The radar showed clear skies all day. Nikhil and Anshuree made the three-hour drive from Raleigh to meet me at Wrightsville Beach for their maternity session: excited, prepared, and glowing with joy. But just as they arrived, a pop-up rainstorm appeared out of nowhere.

That’s coastal Carolina weather for you...unpredictable and dramatic. We held our breath, waited it out, and hoped for the best.

And then... the rain cleared. What followed was nothing short of magical. The overcast skies turned soft and dreamy, the sand sparkled from the rain, and the beach was calm and quiet. The Golden Light We Didn’t Expect....That kind of peaceful, post-storm glow gave us the most romantic and serene lighting you could ask for.
